The 6RA2477‑6GS22‑0 belongs to Siemens legacy SIMOREG‑K 6RA24 full‑digital thyristor DC converter family, built for heavy‑duty four‑quadrant variable‑speed DC motor control with energy regeneration back to mains. This unit integrates power thyristor stack, field excitation rectifier, microprocessor closed‑loop regulator, I/O terminals and fan cooling assembly in one floor‑standing cabinet power unit. It supports high armature current up to 485 A DC for large DC motors, with adjustable field excitation for field‑weakening high‑speed operation. Equipped with analog set‑point inputs, binary control signals and USS serial port for OP1S operator panel, it realizes complete drive functions including speed ramp, current limitation, motor protection, fault diagnostics and status message output. The device is IP00 power‑section design, must be installed inside customer control cabinet with proper input fusing and line reactor. The product is fully discontinued by Siemens; new units are no longer manufactured, available only as surplus, refurbished or spare‑part replacement for existing old‑plant installations.
