Long Description 6ES7461‑3AA00‑0AA0 IM461‑3 receiver interface module belongs to SIMATIC S7‑400 PLC series. This receiver module is installed on S7‑400 expansion rack (ER). It must work cooperatively with IM460‑3 transmit interface module (6ES7460‑3AA01‑0AB0) which is mounted on central rack, to realize distributed long‑distance cabinet expansion for S7‑400 control system
It supports both P‑bus (I/O bus) and K‑bus(C‑bus) transmission. K‑bus enables CP communication processor, FM function module running on remote expansion rack, not only limited to ordinary DI/DO AI/AO signal modules. The maximum cable transmission distance between central rack and expansion rack reaches 102 m. Termination plug is required for signal matching at module end.
This module gets power supply from S7‑400 backplane 5 V DC bus, no external power source needed. Multiple hardware revisions and firmware versions are available, compatible with mainstream STEP7 engineering software. Widely applied in large‑scale distributed automation projects where control cabinets are physically separated. It is commonly used for new project construction, system retrofitting and spare‑part replacement of existing S7‑400 installations.
